What excites me about NPC...

What excites me about this church is an interesting question.  Yes, the love and caring between all of the members is exciting, and it is an atmosphere that I have never before experienced with other churches we have been members of.  But, what really gets me, is the ability to express our thoughts, ideas and suggestions.  We each have a voice within the church.  Suggestions and ideas are not dismissed out of hand.  There have been many ideas and suggestions over the years that have really started new missions.

One of those ideas was for the Deacons to start a Vegetable Garden for those within the church that did not have access or space or knowledge to do it for themselves.  Would you believe that we went from a 12 ft by 12ft space to now a 40 ft by 40 ft space and additional raised beds.  We currently supply between 400 and 500 lbs of fresh vegetables every year to other organizations within Nashua and a similar amount to the members of our congregation.  I can’t tell you what joy I get from seeing a tiny seed grow into 5-foot-tall plants with fruit that we all can use and share.  This year we grew a cabbage of about 5 lbs and the smile on the little boy that took it home was enormous.  It was almost like the best Christmas present ever.  The smiles and expressions of thanks on the visitors to the Lil Farm Stands and our own congregation says it all.  This is the joy that I receive every time someone picks up a tomato, cabbage or other vegetable and makes their dinner with them.
