At the top of my list of what excites me about Nashua Presbyterian Church would have to be all the opportunities for growth. Spiritual growth through meaningful and inspirational worship services learning about God’s plan for me. Also through Bible Study and Small Group where as conversations unfold I get those “aha” moments when something clicks or becomes a little clearer or more meaningful. My understanding of God’s plan includes service and NPC has exciting opportunities to serve. Want to grow flowers, or vegetables? Would you like to volunteer at the Soup Kitchen or Family Promise? How about singing in the choir? Maybe be part of a committee or a Deacon or Elder. One of the best things about serving is working together with others and developing that feeling of fellowship and family and the feeling of family at NPC is very strong. That feeling of support and nurture gives me the courage to try what I might not have tried, do things I might not have done, and grow in my understanding of God in unexpected ways, looking forward to what God has in store for each new day. About seven years ago my Mom and I were looking for a church in Nashua that excited, motivated and spoke to our beliefs. We visited several churches over the course of a few months. We kept going back to the Nashua Presbyterian Church. Why? We were inspired by the pastor and the people! Out of all the churches we visited this one stood out as welcoming, warm and friendly. The pastor’s sermons are informative, historical and relates to the concerns of today. I have learned more about our community and the world through the Moment for Mission, guest speakers, and mission workers that I would otherwise would not have been aware of. The music ministry has an incredible pianist and choir. They prepare the congregation for worship. Although the pandemic has had an impact on how we worship, the church has gone great lengths to make sure that we are connected and involved by using Zoom. I look forward to each Sunday service, as it prepares me spiritually for the week ahead. It is the balm for my soul.
I am excited about Nashua Presbyterian Church because we are a congregation of individuals, each with our own talents, ideas, beliefs, and faults. We are not expected to be alike in any way except to love the Lord.
We rejoice in the different gifts that each person brings to the church. We also express our faith in a variety of ways – and value the differences.
I wondered if it would be hard for me to be a part of a small church– would I get along with everybody? So, I watched the way others acted and thought “I can do that!” and I did. I’m excited about Nashua Presbyterian Church because it’s a place you can grow at any age!
