When the Pandemic and consequent shutdown of in-person worship occurred, the congregation made a marvelous transition to online worship! Though there were “bumps in the road”, the congregation quickly became adept at logging on and worshiping on Zoom. The one component of the service, though, that was lacking and sorely missed was our music ministry. After several different attempts to resolve this problem, a small group was formed that records the hymns, sung responses and anthems for the weekly services. That group, lead by our pianist, meets weekly to record music for the services and has done an exemplary job of continuing our tradition of music ministry. The anthems that the group records are so appreciated that the congregation was gifted with thumb drives containing favorite hymns and anthems so they could listen to them at home. The group is also planning a concert for the congregation and the community in September. Singing has returned to the Sanctuary, which, we believe, is bringing the congregation back to the church! We love to sing, and we love our music! We use the Glory to GodPresbyterian Hymnal.
The Nashua Presbyterian Church is very proud of our two musical groups! We have a small, enthusiastic choir that meets weekly to rehearse hymns and anthems. All voices are welcome! Additionally, during the Pandemic, a second, smaller ensemble was created. This group meets weekly to record anthems to enhance our services. The group works with the Zoom team to create an audio-visual worship experience that coordinates with the church calendar. A few of the anthems are listed below. Listen and enjoy!
